1. Find out the assignment:
a. Call a Study Buddy (at the start of the school year your student should exchange phone numbers with at least two students per class); or
b. See assignment sheet.

2. Obtain any missed handouts:
a. Prearrange with a Study Buddy that if either of you is absent, the other should pick up an extra set of handouts from the teacher; then you and your parent should arrange (with the family that picked up) for FAXing or pickup of the handouts; or
b. Pick up from extra-handout pile on table; or
c. E-mail teacher, who will send it as an attachment.

3. Get any explanation you need:
a. Go to math lab; or
b. Copy friend's notes; or
c. Ask teacher for copy of notes; or
d. Often the teacher will e-mail notes if requested.

District policy stipulates that a student has as many days as he/she was absent to make up missed work. However, it is desirable that as much work as possible be done during one's absence.
No late work accepted for homework points unless absent. Students have 1 day for absence to show make-up work to the teacher. However, even late work should be done, as it is worth additional points in the homework packet.
