About Ms. Brayer
Ms. Brayer was born in Newark, New Jersey. When she was thirteen, her family moved to Union, NJ. She earned my B.A. in Education from Newark State College. She attended the State University of New York where she received her reading credential. She also earned a Master's degree in Education of Econonics from the University of Delaware. Her first teaching postion was in Brigantine, NJ, just outside of Atlantic City. After moving to Thousand Oaks in 1984, she taught at Westlake Elementary School for eight years. She moved over to Banyan Elementary School and remained there two years, then transferred to Colina. Ms. Brayer has two sons, currently living in Santa Barbara. She enjoys gardening and antique shopping.

Then select class from the drop-down menu, type student Last Name, type Password*, click View Report. Password is case-sensitive; it's a CAPITAL LETTER, lower-case letter, lower-case letter, numeral, numeral, numeral (e.g., Xyz123). My Own Grades Password (which is different from the Zangle Password) is mailed home within the first few weeks of the year. |

1. Find out the assignment:
a. Call a Study Buddy (at the start of the school year your student should exchange phone numbers with at least two students per class); or b. Look up the assignment in Zangle ParentConnect (Parent needs to login with parent PIN/ Password.*) c. Find out upon return from absence--the homework is posted in the classroom. 2. Obtain any missed handouts: a. Prearrange with a Study Buddy that if either of you is absent, the other should pick up an extra set of handouts from the teacher; then you and your parent should arrange (with the family that picked up) for FAXing or pickup of the handouts; or b. Handouts are in the back of the room. 3. Get any explanation you need: Ask teacher for appointment. District policy stipulates that a student has as many days as he/she was absent to make up missed work. However, it is desirable that as much work as possible be done during one's absence. |
