|
"Reflections" is the National PTA program that encourages all students to celebrate their artistic gifts and talents. The PTA provides a theme each year, which students interpret in their own way. The projects are judged, and winning entries can have the opportunity to advance to higher levels of competition, all the way through state and national arenas.
Detailed information packets, including guidelines, rules and program dates, will be available in the Colina main office at the start of the school year. Projects will be due in mid-October. To encourage students to participate, everyone who turns in a project will be able to enjoy a free pizza lunch at the culmination of the program.
For further information, please contact Jill Delaney, Reflections Chair: 805-379-0036 or delaney5@adelphia.net.
All students are welcome to use this opportunity to be creative and have fun expressing themselves.

|
|
|
Purpose:
To provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.
Reflections is a cultural arts program developed in 1969 by the National PTA to interest children in grades Preschool - 12, parents teachers and communities in the arts. The arts are an important part of every child’s education. And, just as important, Reflections is a fun project.
Each year a new theme is selected allowing students to explore their thoughts and feelings through creativity and interpretation. The theme must be reflected in the student’s work and clearly related in the title or subtitle of the entry.
Entries in the four art categories of literature, music, photography and visual arts will be submitted through PTA channels, unit to council (if applicable), district, state and National PTA rules and regulations and be original design and artwork of one individual student.
Each student who participates in the Reflections Program must attend a school where there is a PTA/PTSA in good standing. Parent groups not affiliated with the National PTA are not eligible to sponsor a Reflections Program.
