PTSA-SI Helps Publicize COWs Fundraiser
A major fundraiser has been for purchase of a third mobile computer lab—Computers on Wheels (COWs). Sincere gratitude to Colina's PTSA, Colina parents and other donors for raising $50,000 in 2006-07 to fund the COWs for our students. We are indebted, as well, to the PTSA Student Involement (PTSA-SI) component for helping publicize the fundraiser. One of the "ads" used to promote the COWs campaign featured PTSA-SI students.Additionally, on numerous occasions before school near the parking lot, these students carried signs soliciting donations.

The PTSA-SI Crew did an outstanding job collecting baked goods on Friday, Sept. 30, 2005 in hopes of selling them at the soccer fields on Saturday to raise money for the Red Cross, Hurricane Katrina relief. Unfortunately, due to the local fires, all sports were canceled for Saturday. The PTSA-SI Crew is a resourceful bunch! They met at Colina on Saturday morning and proceeded on to Conejo Creek Park where the Firefighters were staging for the Topanga Fire. The delicious baked goods were greatly appreciated and quickly eaten by the men and women were so bravely protecting our homes and community from the Topanga fire. The PTSA-SI Crew was treated to a tour of the facility, got to meet many firefighters and got some cool hats!
