| Field trip for 8th graders who are enrolled in Social Studies 8 Honors. The Simon Wiesenthal Center/Museum of Tolerance, 9786 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, is a high-tech, hands-on experiential museum that focuses on two themes through interactive exhibits: the dynamics of racism and prejudice in America, and the history of the Holocaust. |

Cost: The total cost of the trip is $15 per student ($7.00 admission + $8.00 to defray the cost of the bus). Please attach a check (no cash please), payable to Colina Middle School, to the two required field trip permission forms. (If a financial hardship makes it difficult for you to provide the admission or bus fee, please drop a note to Mr. Kane to that effect, or call the counseling office at the above phone number; funds are available in such circumstances.)
This trip is under the direction and supervision of Mr. Kane and one or more other teachers/staff members. Transportation will be by bus. Please have students bring a sack lunch; after the museum tour, students will be driven to nearby Rancho Park for lunch. A Field Trip/Excursion Authorization and Medical Treatment Authorization will be given to students a few weeks before the trip. |
