We will draw a name on each of two turn-in days to win a $100 Best Buy Gift Card.
The money raised by PTSA directly supports our students in many ways, including: providing start-up funds for every teacher at Colina, purchasing technology that would otherwise be financially out-of-reach, supporting just about every department at Colina over the years, and helping with vital operating costs.
HOW THE JOG-A-THON WORKS: Students run as many laps as possible in 30 minutes around a 1/8th mile track during their regular PE class. They will receive a grade from their PE teacher, since the run counts as their weekly run. Upon completion of the run, students receive a water, generously donated by the Coca Cola Company, or a sport drink. They will also be given a receipt showing the number of laps completed, which is to be shown to their sponsors when collecting money.
DONATION TURN IN DAYS: This year collection days will be on: Friday, Feb. 22, 2008; Friday, Feb, 29, 2008; and Monday, March 3, 2008. A table will be set up in Cougar Court from 8:40 am to 9:05 am each morning. Students who turn in their envelopes on the first turn-in day will be entered in a drawing to win a $100 Best Buy Gift Card. Additionally, each student turning in an envelope with a minimum $10.00 donation will receive 2 Cougar Cash Cards.
Make checks payable to “Colina PTSA” and remember to include all forms for matching employer contribution. All employer matching funds are credited to your child in determining prizes! All donations are due no later than March 7, 2007. We cannot guarantee that funds turned-in after the deadline will receive every prize.
The Jog-A-Thon is subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen conflicts. Please check the Colina Marquee and the Colina Website (colinamiddle.org) for any changes and updates to the Jog-A-Thon.
PRIZES: Numerous rewards will be given to students who raise money from pledges. The prizes include Golf 'N Stuff, tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, 2008.

Hello to our wonderful Colina Volunteers!
It is Jog-a-thon time once again, and we need your help to count laps and cheer on our students as they run! This is the Colina PTSA major fundraiser for the year, and we rely upon our community of families to make it work. Your help is greatly appreciated!
The Jog-a-thon will take place on Tuesday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 20, 2008. I have broken the days into sessions as well as provided class/teacher information if you want to count during the time that your student will be running. Please sign up for as much as you can.
Session 1: 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (A Period thru 2nd Period)† We also need a few people at 7:30 to help set up the track, please let us know if you can help
Session 2: 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (3rd and 4th Period)
Session 3: 1 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. (5th and 6th Period)
Class Information:
Tuesday: All 7th grade as well as 6th grade students with Klee or Farrell
Wednesday: All 8th grade as well as 6th grade students with Rundle or Catalano
Please respond via return email to lorri.grubaugh@pepperdine.edu with the date and sessions that you will be available to help. If you can help with more than one session, that would be great!

For the Jog-a-Thon this year, the Two-Way Sponsor Letter can be downloaded from your computer. This is for you to use at your discretion to send to those friends and relatives that do not live in the area but that you feel may like to sponsor you and your efforts in our Jog-A-Thon. This is strictly for your convenience in contacting these people and is in no way a mandatory letter that you must send to a certain number of people. In an attempt to make this the best Jog-A-thon yet, we would encourage you to use these letters in any way that might help support your efforts. Since this letter is sent by you but will be returned directly to Cohna Middle School. please be sure to put your name and homeroom number under the area that asks for your homeroom teacher so that we are sure that any funds that do come in through the mail are credited to you correctly. Also, please note that all money must be received no later than March 7, 2008 to count towards your prize categories. Any letter(s) that you are going to mail should be sent as soon as possible.
