Color Guard

Who We Are...
Welcome to the Colina Middle School Color Guard Program. Our goal is to give interested students the opportunity to learn and develop basic tall flag and dance skills. Color Guard is a team environment that helps to build self-esteem, camaraderie, and discipline through the pursuit and achievement of performance excellence.

The group will meet once a week on Thursday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.
In April, the group may have additional practices to rehearse their routine with the Colina Marching Band.

Westlake Guard Captain, Stephanie Byrd will be back as the group’s instructor.
Stephanie will be assisted at every rehearsal by other members of the Westlake Color
Guard Program. This program will be under the guidance of Colina Assistant Principal,
Margaret Saleh and Westlake Band Director Kyle Luck.

The group will perform in the 2006 Conejo Valley Days Parade on Saturday, May 6, 2006 as they march and perform a choreographed routine with the Colina Marching Band. They
will also perform at the Colina Band Spring Concert on Monday, June 5, 2006 in the Colina Gym. The Colina Guard members will be invited, as guests, to travel with the Westlake Color Guard to their competitive shows. These shows take place on Saturdays. More information will follow. Attendance is optional.

The individual cost per student is $30.00* Due by Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006. Please make checks payable to Colina Middle School.

It is our goal to make this a fun and rewarding experience for all the participating
students.
