In order to guarantee your child and other children riding the school bus the safe transportation they deserve, we will utilize the following bus procedures.

DISTRICT BUS CONDUCT POLICY: (452.3)

Pupils transported in a school bus shall be under the authority of, and responsible directly to the driver of th4e bus, and the driver shall be held responsible for the orderly conduct of the pupils while they are on the bus or being escorted across a street, highway or road. Continued disorderly conduct or persistent refusal to submit to the authority of the driver shall be sufficient reason for a pupil to denied transportation. Title 5, Section 14263.

DISTRICT BUS CONDUCT RULES: (R452,3)

1 ) Passengers must follow the instructions of the driver.
2) Students shall not misbehave at bus stops.
3) Students attending school which utilize bus passes must have bus passes in order to ride.

4) Passengers are not permitted to enter a bus unless the driver is present.
5) Passengers shall enter and leave the bus in an orderly manner.
6) Passengers shall remain seated while the bus is in motion.
7) Passengers shall sit facing the front of the bus.
8) Passengers are required to share their seats with other students.
9) Passengers shall not put any part of their bodies outside of the bus window.
10) Passengers shall not use vulgar or profane language on the bus.
11) Passengers shall not engage in fighting or boisterous conduct, create unnecessary noise or commotion, or shoot or throw things while on the bus.
12) Passengers shall not eat on the bus.
13 ) Passengers shall not smoke or light matches on the bus.
14) Items which may jeopardize the safety of any person shall not be permitted on the bus.
15) No animals shall be transported on a school bus (except guide dogs). Title 5, Section 14252.
16) Passengers shall not be permitted on buses wearing athletic footwear equipped with cleats or spikes; passengers must wear alternate footwear.
17) Passengers must not leave debris of any kind on the bus.
18) Passengers shall not tamper with the bus or equipment.
19) Each bus shall have a district employee 18yrs or older on board.
